Job Description

Graybill Medical Center, the management organization which supports Graybill Medical Group, seeks a highly collaborative and progressive leader to serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Graybill Medical Center. This leadership position is available due to the retirement of a longtime and respected individual. The COO will have responsibility for the overall patient care services and office operations in support of Graybill Medical Group.     Graybill Medical Group is a physician-led, multispecialty group and is comprised of more than 80 physicians and advanced practitioners who provide care at 12 sites. The Group has 50 plus primary care physicians and practitioners as well as Cardiology, Orthopedics, ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Gastroenterology, and Hospitalist services.

The Medical Group and the Center is well advanced in population health management with over 40,000 HMO risk and ACO members. The Group is located in north San Diego County and in south Riverside County.    Reporting to the Medical Center’s CEO, the COO will be responsible for the successful development, organization and management of the practices. The COO will ensure the best practice in operational management, operational transformation, and in supporting growth.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in establishing systems and infrastructure to ensure clinical and administrative operations meet the needs of patients, practitioners, and employees.  The candidate will have had experience in a 50 + physician and practitioner group with multiple office sites, and ideally will have knowledge concerning HMO risk populations. The COO will maintain a culture which prides itself on high quality care and a unified approach to care delivery. 

Skills / Requirements

Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree, 5-10 years’ experience preferred,2 years experience in a Primary Care Medical Group highly preferred, 5 years working in leadership, management and/ or administration in a medical practice setting highly preferred. CPR Certification required. Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA regulations required. Customer Service experience required. Knowledge and experience with MS Office preferred.
